Live at the Hub brings the thrill of live music performance to the people of Combe (Oxon), and around. As a non-profit society, we aim to provide cultural and social benefits by bringing diverse artists from a wide range of genres to the heart of Combe village.
For the musicians, it’s a chance to play in an intimate venue for an attentive, appreciative audience without the cynicism or the noisy distractions of professional live venues. Although performers are paid at slightly lower rates than professional clubs, we give them a warm community welcome with an evening meal before the performance, local accommodation if needed, and friendly interaction throughout the evening.
The community comes together to experience high quality performances in genres they may not have sampled before, sitting intimately with the artists.
The Past Events page shows the range and depth of our offering. See Live Music for the current live music event listings.
The venue is also the home of the Combe Community Cinema which hosts a mixture of “live” national theatre productions and critically-acclaimed films, from popular box-office hits to offbeat art house (including foreign-language films). Although a separate Combe society to Live at the Hub, the past season’s cinema listings have also proved a great success. See Cinema for all the current cinema listings.
